Taiwan Launches “AI Computing Power” Services to Accelerate AI Innovation and Build a Thriving AI Ecosystem!
To strengthen Taiwan’s global competitiveness in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) hosted a press conference introducing the “AI Computing Power” initiative, a first major step forward in building an AI ecosystem. The AI policy is driven by five strategic policy pillars: computing power, data, talent, marketing, and funding.
This program is implemented by the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI), MODA provides free AI computing power to support domestic IT clients in AI model training, accelerating the development of AI applications and significantly reducing training costs. It speeds up the development of AI applications and contributes to innovative SaaS applications landing faster on the market.
On April 16, ADI was joined by key partners including the National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC), representatives from the evaluation committee, and leaders from major industry associations. Together, they highlighted the successful results from the program’s first phase and shared real-world impact stories from participating companies.
The press event showed results from the 2024 and early 2025 application rounds. Three companies—Kunyou Tech, Sightour, and Cohesion Data—shared highlight use cases, including an AI-based chest X-ray anomaly detection system, an insurance industry-specific language model, and AI vision technologies for traffic safety monitoring. These cases exemplify how AI can be effectively applied across various sectors.
To meet the growing demand for AI computing power, the second application round will open on May 1, 2025, followed by the third round on August 1. Eligible IT service providers and startups are encouraged to apply.
Application guidelines and eligibility requirements will be released on the official ADI website and the project portal (https://aipower.dginfra.gov.tw). For further inquiries, please contact: Tel: 02-2898-7447 ext. 86542, 86539 (Ms. Hsieh, Ms. Huang)
