Convenience with MyData, Apply for Social Housing Passports with Ease
The Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) announced today (13th) that the autonomous use of personalized data (MyData) platform, is continuing to expand its user base and improve user experience. Adopting a human-centered approach, the platform has developed a range of services spanning convenient living, livelihood assistance, family care, social welfare, education, tax services, women and children’s care, consumer finance, and competency development. The MyData platform provided a cumulative total of 143 downloadable data types, 135 counter services, and 915 online services. It has more than 1.4 million members and has accumulated over 6.8 million uses. This endeavor fosters collaboration between central and local governments, expanding the range of online services and bringing digital technology into everyday life.
MODA explained that, under the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center’s Safe and Sound Social Housing service’s livelihood assistance theme, applicants can use the MyData platform. By completing identity verification and providing consent, applicants can quickly access information such as household registration, assets, and income. The entire process can be completed online, without the need to visit government offices or submit any paper documents! Preparing the necessary documents used to take at least one day. Now, through MyData, all required documents can be obtained at once, allowing applications to be completed in less than 15 minutes.
Under the convenient living theme, the Bureau of Consular Affairs offers a conditional online passport renewal service. Applicants who are 18 years or older, possess a Taiwan household registration, have a passport that is either expired or has less than 6 months of validity remaining, have not lost their passport, and whose passport data page remains unchanged can utilize the MyData platform for identity verification and consent, allowing them to retrieve necessary documents, such as household registration and passport data, to complete the online application. Once the new passport is issued, applicants can collect it from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or designated local offices. So far, this service has been used more than 100,000 times.
MODA explained that local governments are actively expanding their online services. For example, Changhua County, Nantou County, Pingtung County, and Chiayi City are quickly integrating with MyData. In October 2025, Changhua County introduced 28 online services, including employment and student loan interest subsidies for youths who remain or return to their hometowns. This initiative addresses the challenges of obtaining inter-agency documents by enabling applications to be submitted without time or location constraints, thereby significantly improving processing efficiency.
To promote the service, MODA launched the MyData Mission Challenge — Win Valuable Prizes Easily online event, which runs from November 12 until 6:00 p.m. on November 28. After completing a data download or using an online service on MyData, users can share their experiences on designated social media platforms and upload a screenshot for a chance to win an NT$888 voucher.
MODA emphasized its commitment to further developing theme-based public services and to improving mechanisms for autonomous data use. To learn more about other convenient services, please visit the MyData platform (https://mydata.nat.gov.tw).
